I know It looks like this game is finally getting on its feet, this game brings me so many memories, I wish nothing but the best for LR. I I have a feeling that it will be a success with the UO crowd plus there are not many mmos around like LR.
So, I just read an article on MO about this game and decided to check it out. I'm an old school UO player and of course, when watching the videos and screenshots I can see the UO influence on this game. This game might be the closest I've seen, but you obviously have your own design goals that aren't UO in mind. That's all a good thing IMO and I'm really interested in seeing what you have created.
I'm now into my 40's, still run a gaming community and will always continue to play games.
That being said, how do I get involved in the game? I see there's a beta starting soon and all of that. Is it possible for someone to get involved in that? I'd love to see what you guys have going. Either way, from what I can see, you're doing an excellent job!
Hi Trekkan, glad to have yet another old school gamer on board. You can create an account for free any time here: http://www.linkrealms.com/register/#signup
You might receive a key to your email this week depending on the amount of users who created an account before you did. Also, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages, we are going to give out some keys there too!
Good luck to you all. This game looks to have awesome potential!! Hope I get to help test.
Old school UO player here, since 1998. Played on Chessy until I was able to be apart of the SWG beta with my guild the Trinity PA. Spent a couple of good years on the Starsider server until the NGE. Now mostly playing on free (pre Tram) UO servers and SWGEMU.
A truly old school gamer! Glad to have you on board!
@Scorpios thanks for you proposal, but we have already a new UI planned by members of our team and we are not looking for volunteer work on this field specifically.
@aparks don't worry, you are free to post information about other project on our forums. I know there's still an old guard of players who long for the old Darkfall to be back, but mind that, as the history of other attempts teaches (see, for instance, Shadowbane and SWG), building an emulator is a much bigger job that one would think, one that can take years even with a few devs That being said, good luck to the guys, I'll keep an eye on the project myself. Next time, however, please leave such posts in the Off Topic section rather than here
