Linkrealms Tournaments: Season One - FAQ

  • Hi everyone,

after several balancing patches, we think the time has come to start the first Season of Linkrealms Tournaments!

Since this the first time a series of events of this kind is being held, the Season will only include a 1v1 tournament.

In the tournament, each player has to fight once against all other players. If the match ends with a draw, both players gain 1 point. If not, the winning player gets 3 points, while the defeated player gains 0 points.

Once all players have fought with other players, the Season is over, and the top 3 players will be rewarded and enter the history of Linkrealms!

You are all invited to register - it doesn't matter if you are very experienced or not! Taking part in the tournament alone will get your name written forever in the Tournament Board in major towns, and you'll have the chance to learn Linkrealms PvP in a safe environment (no looting and no bless charges lost).

    How to register?

If you want to take part to the 1v1 Tournament, leave a reply in the official registration thread.

When does a match end? Who's the winner?

A match ends when the time is over or when one of the opponents has died. When time is over, both players in the fight must stop attacking their opponent immediately.

A match can end in a draw if the time is over and both opponents are still standing 10 seconds after, or if one of the two opponents gets killed but the killer dies as well within 10 seconds.

When will matches matches take place?

They'll take place at a custom time window (called session) scheduled together with your opponents. We'll try to group as many fights as possible together in a session - ideally, all registered players will take part in it. However:

    • During a session, all players will fight only once.
    • The same player can't fight more than once per day.

Don't worry if you don't have a large public: all fights will be recorded and uploaded on the official Linkrealms YouTube channel, Twitter and Facebook pages.

Where do tournaments matches take place?

They take place in a special PvE realm that contains several PvP-enabled arenas. The realm will be reachable through a portal in Riverbank and Ravenfeast when a match is taking place.

Are there any restrictions on character items / skills?

There are no restrictions of any kind. You can dress your character how you want and bring the types of heals you want. You can also change the skills and equipment of your character between different matches, if you feel like.

    When are tournaments starting?

When enough players have subscribed. This thread will be edited when we have the official start date. Hopefully next week already.

What are the prizes for winners?

    Prizes are as follows:

    • 1st place: Season One 1v1 Golden Cup, 200.000 argents
    • 2nd place: Season One 1v1 Silver Cup, 100.000 argents
    • 3rd place: Season One 1v1 Bronze Cup, 50.000 argents

All players who took part to the tournament and completed it will be be awarded with a small Season One Iron Cup.

Gold, Silver and Bronze cups bear the name of the person who won them. Iron Cups don't.

How to check the current status of a Tournament?

A board will be placed in Riverbank and Ravenfeast. It will be updated at each client patch.

Can I participate to a tournament with more than one character by using different accounts?

Obviously not. One person = one character.

What happens if at the end of a Season two players have the same amount of points?

Once all players have fought with other players, the Season is over.

If two players have the same amount of points, the top player is the one who won in the direct match between the two.

If more than two players have the same amount of points, a mini-tournament will be held between them to determine who is ahead.

Please only reply to this thread if you have questions about the tournament.

    Enjoy Linkrealms!

  • I have a furious erection right now. Reserved/brb in 10min

@Prometheus will the realm have any obstacles/grass, and how large will it be?
How long are the timers for 1v1/3v3?
Would you consider making the 1v1 an invitational, since anybody half-way geared won't die, and I forsee a lot of win trading/it being purely about who can chase down the most nab before the timer runs out, rather than who's actually best.

The arena will be quite small, the 3v3 one larger than the 1v1. Not many obstacles, but a few for sure. We will adapt timers during the season - probably starting with 5 minutes.

The arena for 1v1 will be small enough to have a victory. We'll be careful and keep an eye on all episodes of suspected pre-match agreements.

  • @Prometheus could you specify the number of tiles in each?

Nope. You'll see it in the first session :)

  • @Prometheus will you specify if a player sitting in the centre will be able to hit players on the edge with a c'bow?

No, he won't, except for the short side in the 1v1 arena maybe (they are rectangular, not squared). Enough with the obsessive questions!

  • @Prometheus I see that cheeky edit
