Linkrealms Roadmap to Winter Beta

  • Hi everyone,

are you eager to find out what's new in the upcoming Winter Beta? If so, have a look at the official Winter Beta Development Roadmap below!

Along the usual bunch of bug fixes, four new large features / changes will be introduced in the Winter Beta – namely:

1 - Support for multiple characters and character deletion.
2 - Improved character creation, with the possibility of choosing three starting skills.
3 - The Vendor Contract System: fulfill NPC requests for exclusive rewards!
4 - Revised behavior, stats, and loot for all existing monsters not yet balanced.

Read on if you are looking for a more detailed explanation on all upcoming features, and see you soon on Linkrealms!

    Multiple Characters

Within the whole new Login Menu, you’ll be able to create up to five different characters for each account you own – two for free, and other three by purchasing character slots in the Item Store. Features such as realm ownership / access and the use of account-bound items will be account-based (and therefore shared among your characters), while others such as bank boxes will be character-based. Of course, it will be possible to log in and use only one character from the same account at the same time.

Multiple character support will allow you to experiment with different templates and enjoy all the variety Linkrealms has to offer without having to purchase Founder Packs to get access to the game with additional accounts!

    Character Creation

Within the general overhaul on the Login Menu, character creation will also be enriched, both graphically and in functionalities. Within the current system, only aesthetic customization options are available to shape a new character. In the new system, you’ll also be able to assign points to three skills of your choice, or just pick some handy pre-defined templates!

As usual, your initial choices will be in no way binding for the future of your character. You’ll be able to lower the skills you have started with and replace them with completely different ones once you have reached the skill cap, if you feel like.

    Vendor Contract System

The Vendor Contract System has been designed for all users who want to focus their playstyle on crafting. According to your level in the Tailoring skill, you’ll be able to fulfill different requests for crafted items from Tailor NPCs in every town. Each request completed will be rewarded with Letters of Credit, in quantity proportional to the difficulty of the task carried out. These Letters can then be given to the Tailor Guildmaster NPC in exchange for unique gifts, including magical crafting kits that allow you to craft items with modifiers – as if dropped by monsters!

While we are aware this feature could easily turn into a grind fest, the large impact of the type of material required on the amount of Letters of Credit received as reward will largely prevent this from happening. Managing to secure yourself access to a steady supply of rare materials will be crucial for you to get the best out of this new system – way more than macros!

    Monster Balancing

PvE balancing is a monster task (no pun intended) that so far has been carried out little by little before each testing phase. As of today, only a minority of the creatures on Linkrealms has been analyzed and set up to offer a level of challenge consistent to their location and role. Before the start of the Winter Beta, we are planning to complete the job. Each single monster that can currently be found in game will be moved to Flow, our proprietary advanced AI system, and will have its base statistics and loot adjusted – sometimes minimally, sometimes heavily.

On average, you should expect PvE challenges in the Winter Beta to be harder than they used to. This will be true for warrior characters in particular, since several monsters were never assigned a proper combat skill level, which led to experienced warriors so far easily getting 100% hit chance against such creatures.

Well, it was still possible with one character anyway. Just would take some time to level new skills and sacrifice already leveled ones.

Anyway good job. Can't wait for official date of another beta.

It was indeed. However, I don't think losing the hard work of months spent raising a skill to level 100 just to try a different one is a pleasurable activity for anyone ;)

  • Well of course it is not. Anyway I'm quite oldschool player and the harder the game the better it is, at least in my opinion ;)

  • DAM Prometheus...this game gonna be awsome man (y) good jog i cant w8 to play it
